One Week Before the Fun Begins

9 months. 29 days.

This past weekend, in Grand Rapids, MI, there was a Justian family reunion. Most of the people there I had never met before or have met but I was too young to remember them. It was nice getting to know them, but one question kept repeating... "What's next in your life after high school?" Was I ready to answer this question? ABSOLUTELY NOT! I mean, I know I want to go to college and I know what I'm mostly going to study, but there are absolutely no specifics. There are many colleges I'm applying to, and who knows where I'll be accepted, but I don't know what's going to happen within the next year. Only God truly knows!

Yesterday, I registered for senior year and got my school schedule.

1. Physics Honors (Lewis)
2. Advanced Broadcast Journalism (Hernandez)
3. Themes in American Literature and Film (Jenning)
4. Yearbook (Holland)
5. AP Statistics (Debevec)

This year will be different, fun, difficult, and all around filled with memories!

I can't believe that school starts in exactly one week! Where did the past 12 years disappear to???

Just 9 months and 29 days left of being considered a high school student.

Hume Is...

10 months. 7 days.

Today is monday and I got back from Hume Lake on saturday. Wow. I can't believe my last year as a camper at Hume Lake Christian Camps is over. Just yesterday I was meeting Diane (my counselor for the past 4 years) and seeing how awesome Ponderosa High School Camp looked compared to Meadow Ranch Junior High Camp! It's so weird looking back on the 3 years of high school and how much I have changed. Hume Lake has become a large part in my life, from dedicating my life to God to all the new people I have met and grown with in friendships. I don't want it to end, but I must come down the hill and get back into my daily routines. This year, Hume became more personal and now that I won't be going back as a camper, I must use what I have learned in the past 5 years and really apply it and share it in my life. This year's theme taught me selflessness and that I have no right to judge others... although it is ironic how much I've already used the term "I" and "me" in this blog.

I would really love to be a Hume Lake staff member or to say the least, a counselor with my church next summer. The main reason I can't be a staff member is the time in which camp starts... it starts when I'm still in school and runs through my high school graduation, thus I am not missing graduation to work at the happiest place on earth.

Hume is life.

Hume is love.

Hume is nature.

Hume is friends.

Hume is God.

Hume is recreation.

Hume is a lake town.

Hume is beautiful.

Hume is the place in which you come to know and talk with God.

Hume is ...

In the meantime, registration for senior year is coming up next week. Senior year starts in 16 days. Time to spread the Word, make new friends, finish up college apps, and make memories that last forever.

Cheers to the start of Senior year 2011.

10 months. 7 days. aka 311 days. :)

They Catch On

10 months 17 days.

So, today was my last day of summer school 2010. I ended gov and econ with Bs. That shouldn't bring my GPA down too much. I worked a little on college apps this evening and now am getting ready for bed. I just checked Twitter and to my surprise, 2 of my friends were realizing the senior fact. And on Facebook 1 of my friends was freaking out because we are so close to senior year... less than a month, and college apps are sneaking up on us.

I am applying to 9 colleges (alphabetical order):

- Arizona State University
- Azusa Pacific University
- Biola University
- Chapman University
- Loyola Marymount University
- San Diego State University
- Seattle Pacific University
- Texas Christian University
- University of California Santa Barbara

Fun stuff ahead! In the meantime, Hume 2010!
