Summer 2011

Where'd this summer pass away to? Who knows, but I'll just say that it's been a good one, one that I'll never forget. When the summer started I didn't know what was really going to happen, besides a couple of road trips and stuff. Although it doesn't sound like much, I spent my summer 2011 hanging out with friends, going to the beach (more than any other summer), driving the first road trip in my car (Arizona), driving my first road trip with friends (San Diego), realizing God's greatness and power through nature, growing up and getting those dang wisdom teeth out, buying my first Disneyland annual pass (a college necessity), going to my first concert at the Hollywood Bowl, working, meeting my college roommates (which are already SUPER COOL girls), reading (not as much as I wish I did), relaxing in parks, saying goodbye to a few awesome people, and I guess just growing up in general.

It is weird to think that next Sunday I will be taking the leap and going off to Biola University. It makes me a little nervous, but yet I am so excited to start this sort of "new life". I hear college is one of the best times in a person's life. I will say that I'm a little scared for the classwork, being that my books are crazy huge, with lots of words in small print. haha In many ways this is a new adventure, am I ready to take on the big and scary world? I think I am, but first I have to get through the dangerous task of packing and sorting what's going off with me. This is where the fun begins, but I'm such a procrastinator and kinda don't want to do it. I'm a little hesitant to get rid of things that I feel might be needed when I leave.

So yeah, packing, college, adventure, nervousness, excitement.... the big day is fast approaching!

11 days. We are down for the count...

Last Day

I'm officially done with high school. Graduation is in just a few days and it's hard to comprehend thatit's over. It's weird to think how quickly life passes, so basically a word of advice that everyone should take into consideration if living life out every day to the fullest, otherwise it will flash before your eyes and all that you can ask is "what did I do in these past __ years?" Where does the time go? Basically it's summer for the Justians which means a trip to Arizona to visit the fambam, wisdom teeth getting taken out, spontaneous trips (one of which to San Diego), and a whole heck of a lot more fun times. I got my pre-official schedule for my fall classes this week...

I still need to add my English class! :D

We now have two countdowns:
Graduation: 6 days! HOLY COW!!!
Biola Move-In Day (for me): 1 month and 28 days.

Today I drove over to Biola to drop off my application for the Bookstore, and I got the job for the fall! So, I'll be moving on campus early, as in August 14... I'm super excited! Plus, last weekend I went to the Biola Media Conference at CBS Studios, which was pretty cool. I've been talking with other incoming freshmen to Biola on Facebook and I'm just super excited to see what God has in store for me! Yay!

Nick Jonas Meeting :D

Just wanted to do a quick post for y'all....

I met NICK JONAS today! For those of you that don't know, he has been on my list of people to meet for like 5 years now. After trying 5 times in the past few years with Nicole, we finally can check this off our list! Yay!

*This was at the Long Beach Grand Prix on 4/16/11. There's a fence between the celebs and the fans....cuz y'all know it gets dangerous. haha that's a joke. All the cars for the celebrity race were behind Nick so it was a safety precaution!

Springtime!

Hey Guys!

Happy Spring!

So, I just got back from my spring break cruise to the Caribbean on the Oasis of the Seas ship. It was a beast ship... being that it's the largest cruise ship in the world! It was tons of fun although I will say that one of my favorite times was an excursion in Cozumel, Mexico! We got off the ship and did a Segway tour to a private beach then snorkeled on a natural reef with beautiful fish! If you don't know what a segway is... (http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://qt.nokia.com/images/developerzone/segway_i2_med.jpg&imgrefurl=http://qt.nokia.com/images/developerzone/segway_i2_med.jpg/view&usg=__UmtrlMO4lcDJJ4PT87QDS9es6Wg=&h=1877&w=1500&sz=241&hl=en&start=0&zoom=1&tbnid=ipUfagSZdmHmBM:&tbnh=153&tbnw=89&ei=-0WiTc_KMYjTiAKCnrT7Ag&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dsegway%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26client%3Dsafari%26sa%3DN%26rls%3Den%26biw%3D1217%26bih%3D684%26tbm%3Disch&um=1&itbs=1&iact=hc&vpx=505&vpy=328&dur=31&hovh=251&hovw=201&tx=124&ty=277&oei=-0WiTc_KMYjTiAKCnrT7Ag&page=1&ndsp=18&ved=1t:429,r:14,s:0) there you go! :D

One of the only lame things about the trip was the fact that I got a cold the night before we got on the ship and I've had it all week. I blame the smoking room that we were stuck in that night before the cruise. It wasn't our fault but our plane landed super late and the hotel only had smoking rooms left... they were even putting families with small kids in smoking rooms...which is ridiculous! Whatever... The cruise made up for it and I probably could say that it was so big that I don't think I did EVERYTHING on board. If you haven't been on a cruise, I advise you that it's definitely something you want to do, maybe for your next vacation! If you get "seasick" and that's why you're not going, it's a completely different perspective as such a big ship that you hardly feel it, PLUS you can were one of those seasick prevention bandaid things that are super easy to wear. If you have anymore cruise questions, don't be afraid to talk to me because I'll basically sell you a cruise, that's how much I love 'em! haha

Anyways, on a different note. I haven't updated my college plans yet! :) So, it's completely official that I will be going to Biola in the fall with a Film Production major! Ah it's super exciting!!! Plus, what helped was receiving more than half in financial aid! I soo can't wait and I'm counting down the days! I hope ya'll are excited for the upcoming months and I thank you for being in my life!

2 months and 13 days left! :D

CMA FTW!

Hiya!

On Monday I received great news while i was at work... I got accepted to Biola's Cinema Media Arts Program with an emphasis on Production! This is super exciting...mostly because I am 1 of 200 students in the CMA Program. 200 meaning all years..so about 50 freshmen. 50 meaning all emphasizes...so I would think about 20-30 Production Freshmen! :D That's amazing! I'm definitely praising God for this honor!

I still haven't heard back from LMU's defer and UCSB. I don't really know about those. Although I will say that I am 98% sure I'm going to Biola in the fall. All that left is receiving my financial letter then sending in the housing deposits and what not. This is a über exciting! I can't wait to see what God has in store for me in these next few months!

Love ya'll!

Eagles Unite!

Hey All,

I hope everyone's new year is kicking off to a great start! For me, this year is actually starting off well. This is the last 2 weeks of the 1st semester at Mira Costa, then I believe school will become a little easier and my senior year will actually include a social life. I'm excited for these next few months as a have many fun activities planned, from job interviews to concerts to college events and even some adventurous trips.

This past week, I had great confirmation as to the college I will be attending in the fall. At this point, I am seeing Biola in my future, but of course this is not 100% certain. My mom and I went to Biola on Thursday to talk with my counselor and to attend the financial aid seminar and to my mom's approval, the school is becoming suitable to my soon-to-be college lifestyle. In these next few months I have a couple opportunities to go back to the school and learn more, but everyday I am being open and willing, as well as praying and talking with God as to what my job here is to be, which includes being God's servant every day. This is a fun time in my life, and I'm exciting to keep seeing what God's next opportunities are for my life.

Adventures. Friends. Jesus.

1-1-11

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! This is the year I graduate from high school. Wow!

So, today was a very busy busy day to start off the new year. Well, to begin with, we (my mom, her cousin, and I) stayed in a motel near Pasadena which was a smart idea but wasn't the best night of sleep. Truthfully, I didn't sleep at all, instead I tossed and turned from 9:30pm-2am. It was loud with crazy football fans from Wisconsin and downtown traffic.

You get the point. No sleep.

My call time was 3am at the Girl Scout House in Arcadia. We got dressed in our uniforms and got on a bus to Pasadena. We arrived at 4am and to our surprise, the freeway was shut down for the parade. Our buses stopped next to the parked horses on the freeway, where we all got out and started walking to the Tournament of Roses House. It was interesting walking up the freeway ramp. As we passed the floats down the street, they are larger when you stand next to them than seen on tv. Basically, from 4-8am it was 39 degrees. ...our uniform was a skirt, my toes were frozen and were numb to the point that they hurt. We had a breakfast at the Tournament House, got the banners prepared for the parade, and had our flag ceremony for the parade. From then on it was about the 5.5 miles and 2.5 hours of a parade route carrying the banner for the Hall of Fame. My legs are dead after this and I was frozen to the point that I thought I was going to get pneumonia from this walk. It was such an adventure and a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Once that ended, we made our way quickly over to the Rose Bowl Game 2011. We got there early enough to take a 30 minute refresher nap. Then it was game on TCU vs. Wisconsin. As we entered the Stadium, it was all RED (Wisconsin). But once we got to our seats, it was 50/50, with a little more Red filling up the seats than purple. About 94,000 attendees total. Our seats were fantastic! We had 5th row on the 10th yard line. It was a great game that was very close between the teams but TCU made it through to WIN 21-19! Such a great game!

With that said, 2011 brings new adventures, challenges, friends, love and change. So, Happy New Year and continue to prosper in your new adventures.
